Grace Tones
The Grace Tones came together as a group in 2001, out of the Male Chorus from the Grace Baptist Church of Oakland, California where Rev. Charles L. Hopkins serves as the Pastor. These powerful men of God along wth serving as deacons wanted to spread the message through song about the love of their Saviour, Jesus Christ. After diligently rehearsing, their singing dubut was held at their Church Anniversary program. With the help of the Lord, they have progressed further and further into the music industry. They have become well known and sing all over the Bay Area and Southern California. They have performed on the same ticket with Slim and the Supreme Angels, James Bolton, Flint Cavaliers, The Spiritual Keyes, Gospel Voices, Sensational Gospel Specials, Oakland Silver Tones, The Oakland Airs, The Omega Airs, and the True Believers.
Their creative style, love for the Lord, and dedication has blessed them to sing all over California. The Grace Tones were in the studio for almost a year working hard to produce a CD of original and some make-overs of traditional songs. They finally accomplished their goal in January 2007 and released their first CD. The CD is dedicated to the memory of Vincent Ricento, their voice coach. His help was instrumental in the production of this CD. They also dedicated the CD to Gary McMahan, their lead guitar player who was tragically killed in January 2008 by a hit and run driver. He will be truly missed, and may their souls rest in peace.
